LIFE AT HOME

How are you adjusting to school life at home?

Skylar: “I have been adjusting to school life at home very well. It was something that I had to accept, and I did.”

What have you been doing in your spare time to keep your mind occupied?

Skylar: “I have been keeping myself in shape, and I have begun training to hopefully sign up for an ironman.”

LOOKING BACK AND FORWARD

What are your future plans after high school?

Skylar: “I will be leaving New York for Georgia to attend a southeastern electrical lineman school.”

What coaches have influenced you the most throughout your high school career? Why?

Skylar: “Coach (Chris) Fee has really influenced me the most out of anybody throughout my high school sports career. He was always pushing me to better myself, and he was the person that I never wanted to let down. When I would run on the track and we were behind, I would look at him and he would always yell at me to catch up and beat the guy ahead of me. I would go as hard as possible to beat them and I would almost always beat them.”

How much has it meant to you to represent your school’s colors in the sports arena?

Skylar: “Having the opportunity to represent my school, to put the colors on, it has been something that has always meant a lot to me.”

What has been some of your favorite sports memories over the years in school?

Skylar: “My favorite sports memories in high school are the first round of Varsity football Sectionals. I got to play the whole game in the secondary as a cornerback as a first year 10th grader. Also, I rejoined the swimming team for my Senior year.”

What’s your farewell message to your underclassmen at your school?

Skylar: “Always strive to better yourself off and always on the field. If you want to go big, you have to put in the extra hours.”
