About us…

Thank you for visiting WellsvilleSports.com. I originally started this site in 2008 as a landing zone for the ever growing body of pictures of the various sports my kids participated in. The site quickly grew into a small town sports portal covering many of the local and area youth and school activities. In 2012, I left Wellsville for the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and WellsvilleSports.com was shut down.

Fast forward several years and I kept noticing the excellent local sports coverage by Wellsville’s own Chris Brooks. Chris worked the sports desk for the local newspaper and managed a frequently updated Twitter feed sharing a steady stream of updates from area teams and events. His obvious commitment to the community, along with his excellent writing and photography, spawned a hopeful offer that he might be interested in carrying the torch forward.

I’m now very proud to have Chris as the managing editor of WellsvilleSports.com!

If you’re enjoying the site, please don’t hesitate to share it with your friends and family. If you have feedback, requests, news you’d like to see shared, please let us know!

Thx for stopping by!

About Chris…

I am no stranger to Allegany County. I was born and raised in Wellsville, and am a proud 2012 graduate of Wellsville High School. More recently, I have spent many years serving the community as the Assistant Sports Editor of the Wellsville Daily Reporter from January of 2014 to June of 2019, receiving the 2019 Allegany County Athletic Association Service Award along the way.

The idea of having a chance to maintain a role from within the high school community began when I inquired about the possibility of running WellsvilleSports.com toward the beginning of 2019. My vision is quite simple: to provide a strong digital presence that includes the best up-to-date high school sports coverage possible in Wellsville, and the surrounding Allegany County area.

I can't thank my friend Fred enough for allowing me to take hold of the reins on WellsvilleSports.com, and I hope that you'll join me on this journey as I do my very best to keep you all informed!

Thank you all!

Chris Brooks
