Lady Lions carry strong start into Addison, leave town with four-set victory over host Lady Knights

ADDISON — After the Lady Lions started their new season off on the strongest of notes with a victory over multiple Sectional champion Hammondsport on their home floor, they took to the road to keep the momentum going with a visit to Addison, Monday night.

And right out of the gate, Wellsville established their dominance in the first two sets, as they move to a 2-0 start in the Shannon Steiner era with a four-set victory over the host Lady Knights, taking the 25-8, 25-16, 21-25, 25-17 edge.

Kaylee Coleman led the way on the offensive front for the Lady Lions (2-0), garnering a team-high five kills to go with five aces. Brooklyn Stisser provided four more kills to pair with her one block up front. Setter Mattie Buckley chipped in with 10 assists at the net to go along with seven more aces.

The Lady Lions will return to their home floor Wednesday night with a 7:15 p.m. first serve against visiting Arkport/Canaseraga.
