LIFE AT HOME
How are you adjusting to school life at home?
Emily: “I never thought I would miss going to school this much. However, I have been able to make it work. I enjoy being able to “see” my classmates during these hard times.”
What have you been doing in your spare time to keep your mind occupied?
Emily: “I’ve been working out in the morning to help keep me motivated for the day. School work keeps me busy for the majority of the time. I mostly enjoy spending my time with my puppy at the creek.”
LOOKING BACK AND FORWARD
What are your future plans after high school?
Emily: “I plan on attending D’Youville College to become a Physician Assistant.”
What coaches have influenced you the most throughout your high school career? Why?
Emily: “Easily my Dad. Despite the fact that he was only the head coach at my school for one year, he definitely changed the program. The summer after his first season, he was in a car accident in front of my house. Despite the many injuries he had, he still organized and coached our team in a Summer league in Bath. He wasn’t the head coach after that due to other complications. After that, every Spring and Summer, my Dad organized the Andover girls AAU team, and every girl from the team was invited to play. I believe that the time he poured into the basketball program was a major part of our success as a team over the past five years of my career. Every aspect of my game I owe to him. He taught me everything. His determination to not let the accident hold him back from helping improve the team makes him the coach that influenced me the most throughout my career.”
How much has it meant to you to represent your school’s colors in the sports arena?
Emily: “The world. This community in Andover is like no other. My sophomore year when I went to Italy for soccer, the amount of support I got from the community was amazing, and unforgettable. Any sporting event held at Andover always consisted of a large crowd of Panther fans. Putting on a good show for them was what inspired me the most. I love the school, and it’s given me so much over the years. Representing it in my best way possible will always be something I will try to do.”
What has been some of your favorite sports memories over the years in school?
Emily: “Winning sectionals, and scoring 1,000 career points in basketball.”
What’s your farewell message to your underclassmen at your school?
Emily: “Keeping working hard, and outshine the haters.”
