On Monday, the New York State Sportswriters Association (NYSSWA) officially released their 2019 New York All-State Girls Soccer Selections, with numerous Allegany County student-athletes recording nominations within the Class D bracket.

The Class D1 champion Fillmore Lady Eagles earned three selections after another masterful season on the field under head coach, Jon Beardsley. Senior Hannah Roeske earned the highest nomination amongst her teammates, being selected for second team All-State. On Third Team, senior Emily Hatch and Carlee Miller were also selected.

All three players helped lead a Lady Eagles squad through what had become yet another undefeated regular season, finishing at 15-0-1 before Sectional play. Fillmore would go on to a 3-1 record in the second season, including a monumental 3-0 shutout of defending Class D State Champion Kendall in the Class D1 Finals in Warsaw for their first championship since 1999.

Joining both Hatch and Miller on New York’s third team All-State, is Andover senior Emily Wahl. Wahl captained a Lady Panthers squad toward another phenomenal season under head coach Al Barber. Andover finished their campaign with a 10-6-1 record, as Wahl concluded her final season on the soccer field donning the purple and white with nine goals, and an Allegany County-leading 16 assists.
