Thursday Roundup: Otto-Eldred spoils Lady Lions Senior Night with dominant 1st half, roll towards 54-30 win; Green’s massive 2nd half fuels Wellsville win at Pal-Mac, Fillmore flies past C-R late
WELLSVILLE — The final countdown for three Lady Lions Seniors was officially in full swing come Thursday night, with Natalie Adams, Makenna Dunbar and Alexa Stuck all stepping onto the floor for one of their very last games together, as the regular season commenced its rapid approach towards conclusion.
The hope was to send all three of their Senior captains out with a bang. But their opposition in attendance, the Otto-Eldred Lady Terrors, looked to play the role of spoiler all throughout the night.
In the first quarter, their presence was felt immediately. After a duo of solid connections to break the ice, the momentum they built reached heights of maximum altitude, as the Lady Terrors skyrocketed behind a massive first half lead of the Lady Lions that they ultimately never lost, spoiling Wellsville’s annual Senior Night celebration with a dominant 54-30 victory.
There was simply no stopping Otto-Eldred, as they set the tone right away on both ends of the floor, holding Wellsville (11-4) to just a single shot from the field in the frame while controlling the rebound game off the glass in the same swing to keep their offensive efforts vitalized. With an 11-2 lead in hand going into the second, their momentum remained intact, scoring nine of the frame’s first 10 points to lay claim on a humongous 20-3 advantage near the midway mark.
The Lady Lions were able to shake it off going into the break with a strong finish, posting seven of the last 10 points, with Natalie Adams and Makenna Dunbar both leading the efforts in chipping away at their deficit going into the locker room.
Otto-Eldred was able to re-emerge reenergized for the second half however, as they cemented their victory to spoil Senior Night for the hosts in white and orange with a massive 18-7 run in the third quarter.
Dunbar paved the way for the Wellsville offense with a team-high 11 points, pairing them with six rebounds. Jaden Dunbar chipped in with eight points, while Adams powered special teams efforts with five assists and three steals. Emily Stuck grabbed five more rebounds off the glass to further the team’s cause.
Prior to the Varsity contest, the Wellsville JV Lady Lions witnessed an outstanding 22-point performance from Addy Hennessy in the team’s 57-20 victory over Otto-Eldred.
Up next for the Lady Lions, they will prepare to welcome in the Canisteo-Greenwood Lady Chargers for a 7:30 p.m. visit on Wednesday.

CANISTEO — An early three-point battle from beyond the arc formulated between Arkport-Canaseraga and Canisteo-Greenwood to begin their Thursday night clash in the Canisteo Valley, as the two foes combined to unleash 20 of them across the entire 32 minutes of action.
The Lady Wolves had 12 of them — six from the hand of Payton O’Dell, who was scorching hot from start to finish on the attack, including the second quarter where the floodgates were broken down right before halftime, as she finished with a game-high 35-point performance to aid in setting the music for the team’s authoritative 71-39 victory over the Lady Chargers.
From within a fiery first quarter on both sides of the hardwood, the Lady Wolves were able to outlast Canisteo-Greenwood’s (9-7) challenge out of the gate with O’Dell and Kara Mahany both fronting the offensive efforts from within the team’s 21-point stand of offense, as they combined to launch four threes against the Lady Chargers to help lay claim on a 21-16 lead.
The momentum remained in their favor going into the second quarter, and ultimately for the remainder of the game, as O’Dell broke the door down for the visitors in black and teal, lighting the cannon and firing four more triples down through the twine to finish assembling a 24-point first half with a monstrous 20-8 run of the Lady Chargers to take full command of a 41-24 halftime advantage.
In the second half, Arkport-Canaseraga shifted their focus to balance on the offensive front, with six different Lady Wolves all contributing to the cause, including O’Dell, who had 10 more points to chip in from within the team’s 21-10 run of the hosts in white and red to keep them in front permanently.
Following O’Dell for the Lady Wolves was Mahany, who had 15 points of her own to chip in. Gracen Mahany and Morgan Gilbert each had eight points.
Canisteo-Greenwood was led by Bailey Mullen and her 13 team-high points. Anna Mitchell sank three triples, for nine points. Paris May had eight points.
The Lady Chargers are now off until Wednesday night for a 7:30 p.m. visit to Wellsville to take on the host Lady Lions.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Wellsville 69, Palmyra-Macedon 60
PALMYRA — Those extra long bus rides can be harrowing at times for teams heading out over the road. But at this stage of the game, some of those trips might just be worth the mileage with Sectionals quickly approaching. For the case of the Lions of Wellsville, one of those treks was made Thursday night with a visit to Palmyra-Macedon, where massive Sectional points were present for the taking.
After knocking off a team of Red Raiders nearly a week ago in the Maple City, the Lions turned their attention to another collection of Red Raiders southeast of Rochester. But of course, the quest for securing those points did not come easy whatsoever.
Palmyra-Macedon hung right alongside Wellsville each and every step of the way. Every time one team provided a basket, the other was right there with a corresponding score of their own. Despite the Red Raiders honing in on perhaps the hottest hand as of late for Wellsville, Ty Vogel, it opened up the floor for everyone else around him.
Especially for JJ Howard and Trent Green.
Each Lion took a turn at captaining the offense throughout the night, with Howard establishing his presence early on in the first half to ignite the offense before Green took center stage himself with a massive second half eruption of his own, as the two scoring stalwarts allowed Wellsville to capture a lead of Palmyra-Macedon and keep it intact to secure a competitive 69-60 victory over the Red Raiders.
“It certainly helps when you have a team so talented, our scoring can come from literally anywhere on the floor,” Lions coach Tom Muska said. “You want to key in on Tyler? Well, playing tight to him opens space for JJ and Trenton to get catches closer to the basket. I felt our offense was not our issue tonight. Defensively, we didn’t quite have it and we let them hang with us for too long. We had an offensive answer for anything they threw at us. But we couldn’t get enough stops to build the gap.”
Off the hop, after Palmyra-Macedon clinched the advantage, the Lions (9-6) went to work themselves with the formulation of a swift response in return, as they used the outer perimeter to deliver back-to-back triples to capture the momentum with an 8-3 lead behind Vogel and Nick Germain-Tardieu’s buckets. The two foes wound up trading an even timeshare of scores down to the end of the opening quarter, where the Lions ultimately held a 16-10 lead.
In the second quarter, it was JJ Howard’s turn to help open things up for the Wellsville offense, as he finished the assembly of a 10-point first half with eight of those points coming within the frame, seeing their advantage over the Red Raiders climb to as mountainous as 10 at one point, hovering right around the same margin going into the break.
Out of the locker room for the second half, it was Trent Green’s turn.
Despite both teams chipping and clawing away at one another across the final 16-minute elongation of the night, it was Green that helped make all the difference in the world for the Lions down low and outside, constructing a massive 18-point second half — 13 of those points from within the team’s 20-point frame in all to make sure the lead they holstered against the Red Raiders remained frozen intact down the stretch to secure a big-time victory with a bundle of Sectional points along with it.
Green led all scorers for the Lions with a team-high 25 points. Howard followed up with 16 points of his own, while Vogel had eight.
“A win is a win. We were a little out of our routine with a 6 p.m. game and no JV team with us. It was one of the longer bus rides we will have this year and we entered a quiet gym that felt like summer league. It was still great to come out with a win.” said Muska.
Their next bus ride won’t be as long as this one coming up on Monday, as the Lions now get set to clash with the County’s hottest team since the very beginning of the season — Class D powerhouse Fillmore, as the battle of local gladiators is primed for a 7:30 p.m. start inside The Rock.
“It’s the only way we want to play,” said Muska. “But Fillmore won’t be easy whatsoever. They have two kids that will play college basketball one day, and we cannot act like they’re a typical D school. They might very well be the favorites to win States in Class D. They are a really good team, and we hope to give them a really good game, especially when we play there.”

Fillmore 74, Cuba-Rushford 54
CUBA — The race for supremacy at the top of Allegany County has kicked the tires into high gear on Thursday, with the final meeting between two local elites for the first time since mid-December gracing the center stage in a place they infamously call the Wighthouse on the grounds of Cuba-Rushford.
Since their last meeting in Fillmore before the Christmas break, the Rebels of Cuba-Rushford and the Eagles of Fillmore have set ablaze the hardwood, no matter the location, whether it’s inside on their own or over the road elsewhere during their travels. As for the month of January itself, both foes have only found the loss column just once during their reckoning.
It was safe to say that their final regular season battle was of utmost magnitude.
Just like their previous battle from within The Rock just over a month ago, Fillmore and Cuba-Rushford proceeded to lock horns once again in another wild affair. But the outcome remained the same — the Eagles soared.
It was a dynamic finish in the fourth quarter that helped them close out their first battle with the Rebels in nail-biting style. Right before the weekend this time around, Fillmore assembled the perfect finish, as they held Cuba-Rushford scoreless from the field in the midst of a devastating fourth quarter run — one that saw them net the game’s final 11 points in consecutive fashion to pull away from the Rebels and towards a gigantic 74-54 victory.
“I thought we fought our butts off for three quarters tonight,” Rebels coach Pat Wight said. “We got pushed around a bit and gave up some untimely offensive rebounds for big threes, and we just didn’t find an answer to it. I’m really proud of my guys and their fight. I hope we can build off of this and not let it hinder what we can accomplish the rest of the way.”
The back-and-forth pace settled in for an overwhelming extended period of time between the two squads, beginning in the opening eight minutes where no degree of separation eclipsed more than four points leading into the last two minutes. The Eagles (12-1) were able to find their way out on top with seven of the following nine points after the Rebels clinched a narrow 13-12 lead, ending the small run with a huge Jameson Rhett triple off a turnover deep in the host’s defensive zone.
The Rebels (11-5) were able to shake it off however, as they trimmed the deficit immediately following the bucket with a buzzer-beating triple from Carter Brown to get the team back within range again. The advantage for Fillmore widened to as much as five points in the early stages of the second quarter, but Cuba-Rushford fought back with ease, docking a 7-2 run of their own to deadlock the contest at 25 past midway.
With the back-and-forth exchange progressing towards a 32-20 lead in favor of the visitors, the Rebels made sure they finished the opening half out on top with one more lead change off a clutch triple from the outside perimeter by Zach Deck.
Another heated exchange started the second half for each squad, setting in motion a 41-38 lead for Cuba-Rushford approaching five minutes remaining in the frame. Then, the fire began to burn once again for the Eagles, as they hit all strides with a leviathan 11-0 run of the Rebels across the next several minutes to capture a 49-41 advantage — including a big Jonah Bialek triple following another deep turnover in the Rebels zone, capturing the largest advantageous margin each team held in this particular juncture.
Fillmore kept their position at the front of the line, despite some early pressure down the stretch in the last eight minutes. But in the last 3:30 of battle, the Rebels were completely shut off, as the Eagles managed to close out the night with a 9-0 run — a 22-7 fourth quarter run of Cuba-Rushford altogether, to cement their victory.
The Eagles were paced by an all-balanced 29-point performance from Cam Mucher. Jonah Bialek was not far behind, putting forward 18 additional points, while JD Bialek chipped in with 16 points of his own — the majority of which incepted in the second half, adding 12 rebounds along the way to complete a double-double.
Cuba-Rushford was captained by Carter Brown, who recorded a team-high 23 points. Adam Roe had 11 points to add in alongside eight rebounds, while Donovan Breckenridge had seven points. The Rebels will look to resume their winning ways come Saturday morning, visiting Ellicottville in a 11:30 a.m. tip-off.
Fillmore will now head back home for another difficult task ahead of them — the Lions of Wellsville, as they play host to the Class B stalwarts on Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Bolivar-Richburg 63, Genesee Valley/Belfast 43
BELFAST — The Wolverines of Bolivar-Richburg have showcased a two-headed monster on the attack for quite some time this campaign, with Landon Barkley and Kingston Loucks both leading the front of the pack each and every night out.
Thursday night was additional proof of that, as the two Wolverines combined to record 42 of the team’s 63 points. Within it, Barkley’s game-high performance across all fronts led the charge during their visit to the Paul Vienna Memorial Gym in Belfast, as they remained red hot with their ninth win in the last 11 games while ending Genesee Valley/Belfast’s four-game win streak in the same exact swing with a 63-43 victory.
The back-and-forth trading of baskets was a common trend from the start of the contest all the way through to the late stages of the second quarter, where the Wolverines (12-5) have dug their way into the driver’s seat. After surviving a close battle early on with Genesee Valley/Belfast that saw them interlock together for a 20-20 tie, Bolivar-Richburg took matters into their own hands with seven of the half’s last points going their way to score a 27-20 halftime lead.
Bolivar-Richburg then proceeded to ride all momentum in the third quarter, as they delivered an absolutely scorching hot 11-4 run that they carried over from the second quarter to push their lead closer towards it being out of reach. Barkley led those heroic efforts for the Wolverines behind a second half eruption, as he posted 16 of his game-high 28 points in the last 16 minutes alone.
When it was all said and done, a 22-10 third quarter run for the visitors in black and red was complete, as their advantage held firm all the way to the end, as they prevailed over Genesee Valley/Belfast (8-6) to stay hot.
Loucks followed up Barkley’s sensational performance for the Wolverines with 14 points of his own. Braden Zilker provided a hot hand from downtown along the way, sinking three of the team’s eight total shots from beyond the arc, for nine points. Waide Karnuth also had nine points, while Maddox Davison rounded off the scoring with the team’s remaining point from the charity stripe.
Genesee Valley/Belfast was ignited by Kenton Shultz and his team-high 12 points. Cane Treusdell had 11 points, while Ethan Davenport had nine. The team will hit the road for a 7 p.m. visit to Letchworth on Monday.
Bolivar-Richburg will now head back home for a big showdown against the Jasper-Troupsburg Wildcats beginning at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friendship/Scio 48, Hinsdale 37
HINSDALE — After trailing early in the opening eight minutes on Thursday, a strong second quarter response was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Friendship/Scio boys, as they propelled ahead of host Hinsdale, despite being on their tail across every passing second of battle, as they warded off the Bobcats with a 48-37 road victory.
“We didn’t really get much out of our bigs, but that’s credit to Hinsdale. They packed it in on us, but it was nice to see our guards start to open things up more for us,” said Friendship/Scio coach Dillon McFall. “They did a great job attacking the basket, Jerome (Harmon), Connor (Blouvet) and Aiden (Golden). That ended up serving as a big difference tonight. It was kind of a weird start in the first with a slow start, but then the fourth quarter came, we ended up moving things really well.”
A speedy reciprocation of baskets helped start the contest in the first quarter between the two foes, navigating its way towards a 4-4 tie that was eventually broken by Hinsdale in the last three minutes of the frame, as they posted the last five points to jump out ahead going into the second quarter.
The tempo remained unchanged as both teams fought towards another deadlock early on. But it was one that Friendship/Scio broke with ease, as they pushed down the gas to deliver a 10-1 run of the Bobcats following a 12-12 tie to take a five-point first quarter deficit and turn it into an eventual seven-point, 25-18 lead at the break.
Despite falling behind, Hinsdale made up for lost ground in the third quarter with their biggest stand of offense in the contest, trimming away at their deficit to come within three points at the absolute closest behind Friendship/Scio. But in the last eight minutes, the visitors in black and gold hardened their advantage with yet another long jaunt of their opposition, closing out the battle with a 16-7 advantage on offense to claim the victory over the road.
Leading Friendship/Scio was Connor Blouvet, who recorded a game-high 16 points. Jerome Harmon was right behind him with 13 points to pair with 12 rebounds and four assists to complete a double-double performance, while Aiden Golden had nine points.
The Bobcats saw Robert Childs take charge of the offense, as he led the way with a team-high 14 points. Cody Hand had 11 points. Hinsdale will hit the road for a 7 p.m. visit to Mount Morris on Monday.
Friendship/Scio is back on the floor tonight with a quick turnaround back home, hosting the Hammondsport Lakers in a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Andover/Whitesville 85, Houghton Academy 27
ANDOVER — Every last scorer for the Andover/Whitesville boys all provided a helping hand to set the hardwood on fire from start to finish Thursday night. With the first half wrapped up in their favor, they proceeded to bust loose and roll their way towards a 32-point outing in the third quarter to aid in solidifying their 10th win of the campaign by an 85-27 count in Andover.
“The guys played a pretty complete game tonight,” Andover/Whitesville coach Jimmy Joyce said. “Both sides of the ball were clicking. I thought our court vision and our tempo were extremely positive tonight, and we had been lacking a little bit in those categories recently. Jeff’s (Prentice) guys were certainly short-handed with (Josh) Davidson out, but Jack (Prentice) is still really hard to deal with. All in all, I’m very happy with the guys and their effort tonight.”
Four different scorers all posted at least 10 points to propel Andover/Whitesville (10-6) on the offensive front. Two of those scorers co-led the team at the front of the pack, as both Brody Vance and Jon Vallieres powered the attack with 20 team-high points each for the hosts.
Vinny Joyce and Colton Calladine were right behind them with 15 points apiece, as Andover/Whitesville built a 33-16 halftime lead of the Panthers and never relinquished it going forward.
The visiting Panthers (4-11) were led by Jack Prentice and his game-high 23 points. Houghton Academy heads back home to host Lyndonville on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Andover/Whitesville will now hit the road themselves to close out the weekend tonight, as they get set to visit the Naples Big Green for a 7 p.m. contest.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Cuba-Rushford 3, Wellsville 1
WELLSVILLE — Two of Allegany County’s hottest teams met under one roof at exactly one time Thursday night to finish off their epic regular season-series in the Lion’s Den. The matchup featured the visiting Rebels of Cuba-Rushford, winners of six straight following a 2-4 start, and the Lions of Wellsville — a team that has not found the loss column in over a month.
With the County Playoffs beginning to emerge over the horizon at a rapid rate, only one fire would be left to burn heading into the big dance next week.
Despite a competitive race to the finish line which saw Wellsville claim victory first and foremost, it was the Rebels that provided the biggest rebound of them all, as they came right back and took wins in each of the next three sets to split their season series with the Lions to close out the regular season on top with their seventh straight victory, seizing the 22-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-19 win on the road.
A key cog in the machine for the Rebels (9-4) and their success — Brock Stadler, as he aided the offense behind his incredible 14-kill performance, pairing them with five digs and a pair of aces from the back line. Colton Stupp chipped in with nine more kills of his own, coupling them with two blocks at the net, while setter Coen Kellogg set up the offense with 24 assists, adding them alongside seven digs, five aces and a kill.
“We have just the right formula clicking for us, and the pieces to the puzzle are coming together at the right time. We’re playing so effectively and we want to carry that into the playoffs. Learning how to win, it has shown in the season that we’ve been fortunate to have. We lost a bit at the beginning, but now we’re playing some great volleyball.” Rebels coach Whitney Miller said.
Leading the Lions (9-3) on the other side of the net was Xavier Scot and his 11 kills and three blocks. Kamron Dodge chipped in with six kills and four aces of his own, while Terrence Benz had three kills and a block to help round off the attack.
Both teams have now concluded their regular season, as they now await County Playoff play beginning next week.
Fillmore 3, Genesee Valley/Belfast 2
FILLMORE — All five sets that were shared between Genesee Valley/Belfast and Fillmore saw outcomes that were determined by no more than five points at any given time on Thursday in The Rock. After their tightest finish to action of the night, it was only appropriate for the same tempo to carry over into the fifth and final set.
Both teams delivered back-and-forth haymakers since the start of the match-deciding set, with Genesee Valley/Belfast jumping out to a three-point lead entering the final stretch. But the Eagles managed to eradicate the momentum they had built to deliver a big finish themselves, as they closed out the set with six of the final seven points to send their Seniors out swinging on Senior Night with a 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13 victory.
The Eagles (5-7) were led by Davyd Howard, who recorded five digs and a pair of kills on the attack. Molly Mahoney pitched in four more digs on defense to go with one additional kill, while Summer Friedl collected seven service points from the back line to further the team’s cause.
Genesee Valley/Belfast (0-12) was fronted by Lawson Ector, as he posted a game-high 10 kills to couple along with four aces and three assists. Noah Miller handed out 14 assists to pair with four kills and two aces, while Landon Blocho had four kills, four blocks and two more aces from the back line to contribute for the offense. The team will close out their regular season back home in Belmont tonight, hosting Arkport-Canaseraga at 6 p.m.
Fillmore will now await County Playoff play, which is slated to begin next week.

Wellsville sweeps tri-match at B-R, spoils Senior Night for host Wolverines
BOLIVAR — With the regular season winding down, Bolivar-Richburg possessed the County’s wrestling spotlight on Thursday with all three local teams meeting under one roof to settle the score during Senior Night celebrations for the host Wolverines.
With the host Wolverines and the Lions of Wellsville collecting a win over Fillmore/Keshequa to start the night off, it would all come down to the night’s final match, as the two rivals on the mat went toe-to-toe for the last time this season. It was a lead the Wolverines established early behind some magnificent performances from Cameron Wilber and Teegan Sibble.
But for the Lions, they capitalized on forfeit victories down the stretch, along with some highlight performances of their own, as they managed to collect the evening’s sweep of the tri-match with a 36-27 win over the Wolverines.
The action began with Wellsville and Fillmore/Keshequa going mono-y-mono first and foremost, with a 15-0 technical fall win for Jack Cicirello over Braylon Hatch at 152 pounds setting the tone for the whole match going forward. Following a clutch pinfall win from Mason Edwards at 160 pounds over Ryan Benedict, Xander Outman (170 pounds), Gabe Black (190 pounds) and Brayden Taggert (215 pounds) all posted forfeit wins to extend their lead.
Following Fillmore/Keshequa’s first win from Craig Swift via forfeit at 101 pounds, Wellsville went back to work on the mat with Easton Joyce collecting their next win at 108 pounds, rolling up Eli Voss just 44 seconds into the third period. Fillmore/Keshequa was awarded one more forfeit win from Zach Nageldinger at 116 pounds before the Lions found their rhythm again off back-to-back wins at 124 and 131 pounds, with Blake Geffers and Jensen Spicer both recording pinfall wins over their respective opponents, Alivia Cartwight and Garrett Hodgson.
Fillmore/Keshequa’s lone victory on the mat came from Gavin Bush, who claimed the victory in perhaps the fiercest battle of the night, surviving with a narrow 7-5 decision over Brock Mattison at 138 pounds.
Match two would see the Wolverines then take the mat against Fillmore/Keshequa, where forfeits in four of the first five matches allowed them to build a lead they never lost, ultimately securing what was a 42-36 victory to grab their first win of the tri-match.
Following a Ryan Benedict forfeit for Fillmore/Keshequa at 160 to commence the action, the Wolverines followed with four straight forfeits of their own, with Tavyn MacDonell (170 pounds), Haizen Hall (190 pounds), Kailob Lipka (215 pounds) and Cameron Wilber (285 pounds) all scoring them respectively.
With another forfeit win being awarded to Swift for Fillmore/Keshequa, Teegan Sibble was next in line to score the team’s first win in competition on the mat for Bolivar-Richburg, as she staved off a tough battle from Eli Voss at 108 pounds to come away victorious with a pinfall win with just 35 seconds left in her match. Sibble’s victory was one of three that the Wolverines would record across the next four matches on the mat, with Presley McDowell and Junior McDowell both scoring pinfall wins of their own at 116 and 131 pounds, respectively.
In between those matches, at 124 pounds, Alivia Cartwright scored Fillmore/Keshequa’s lone win on the mat with a pinfall win over Timothy Coleman.
Fillmore/Keshequa closed the gap down to as little as six down the stretch behind two more forfeits from Gavin Bush at 138 pounds and Braylon Hatch at 152 pounds, but the early deficit ultimately became too much to overcome.
With one win now in the wagon for both Wellsville and Bolivar-Richburg, it all came down to the final match of the night — the official Senior Night match for the Wolverines, and it was a start of utmost importance, as they began with victories in five of the first seven scheduled matches.
In between a Gabe Black pinfall win for the Lions at 190 pounds over Kailob Lipka, the Wolverines scored forfeit wins from Haizen Hall and Tavyn MacDonell at 170 and 190 pounds before Cameron Wilber delivered the first win in action with a 17-3 major decision over Brayden Taggert at 215 pounds.
The winning edge continued on into the lightweight division, where Sibble scored her second victory on the mat to conclude her Senior Night celebration with a bang, posting an 18-3 technical fall win over Easton Joyce at 108 pounds. Immediately after what was ultimately Bolivar-Richburg’s last win, a Presley McDowell forfeit win at 116 pounds to earn a 27-6 lead, the Lions then took over for the remainder of the match.
In the last five scheduled matches, Wellsville went on to score 30 unanswered points, beginning with Blake Geffers and his 27-second pin of Timothy Coleman at 124 pounds. Jensen Spicer followed with an injury decision win over Junior McDowell at 131 pounds, while Brock Mattison (138 pounds), Jack Cicirello (152 pounds) and Mason Edwards (160 pounds) all secured wins via forfeit to close out the comeback win for the Lions and the tri-match sweep.
Wellsville will officially close out the regular season back on the road tonight, as they visit Campbell-Savona for tri-match action once again alongside Alfred-Almond, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
As for Fillmore/Keshequa and Bolivar-Richburg, both teams have concluded their regular seasons and will now participate in their final invitational of the season at Avoca-Prattsburgh this weekend before Sectionals begin next week.
