LIFE AT HOME

How are you adjusting to school life at home?

Cody: “I don’t really have many classes but when I do get work to do, I get it done as early as I can. Then, I’ll usually do my workout circuit that I have for myself, then I have spare time left to just relax the rest of the day.”

What have you been doing in your spare time to keep your mind occupied?

Cody: “I will go on occasional bike rides or walks. Sometimes, I will go down to the old Angelica soccer field and kick a ball around. My Dad and I have spend a good amount of time building a new shed, which we just finished.”

LOOKING BACK AND FORWARD

What are your future plans after high school?

Cody: “I will be attending Mansfield University to continue my baseball career, majoring in the Criminal Justice field.”

What coaches have influenced you the most throughout your high school career? Why?

Cody: “Coach (Lintz) Bliven, Coach (Ryan) McKnight and Coach (Kevin) Scott. Whether it was soccer, basketball or baseball, they were all at our games cheering us on as much as possible. Coach Scott and Coach Bliven have always, always preached about us becoming great people in our community, and giving the younger kids somebody to look up to when they grow up. The things that they have taught myself along with my teammates goes bigger than just basketball or baseball.”

How much has it meant to you to represent your school’s colors in the sports arena?

Cody: “I have always looked forward to all of the home games on our schedule. Being able to throw on the jersey, and go out and play in front of what seemed to be the whole community each night, has been amazing.”

What has been some of your favorite sports memories over the years in school?

Cody: “One of my favorite memories is having the chance to play in Cleveland, and then watching the Cavaliers play right after we got done playing. Achieving the school record in scoring for basketball is another big one for me, and also getting the chance to play for a Sectional title at Blue Cross, even though it did not go our way in the end.”

What’s your farewell message to your underclassmen at your school?

Cody: “Always be the best classmate and teammate you can be. If you’re not playing great or may not be the best about what is going on, nothing can be the heart you have. You achieve lots of things working as hard as you possibly can.”
