LIFE AT HOME

What have you been doing in your spare time to keep your mind occupied?

Riley: “Not being in school has given me time to spend some time with my family, and workout. I don’t usually have time to do this when I am going to school and playing sports. I also have a lot of time to think about the future and prepare for the next chapter of my life. To all of the seniors, even though it’s not the senior year we probably wanted, it has taught us a lot. I wish you all the best!”

LOOKING BACK AND FORWARD

What are your future plans after high school?

Riley: “In the fall, I will be attending Huntington University in Indiana to major in Exercise Science and to continue my soccer career. Later, I would like to continue furthering my education and doctor in Physical Therapy.”

What coaches have influenced you the most throughout your high school career? Why?

Riley: “I have had many coaches throughout the years, whether they were for school or club teams. All of them have influenced my life in some way. I wouldn’t be the athlete or the person I am now without all of them. I would just like to say thank you to all of my coaches. Thank you for pushing me even when I didn’t think I could do it. Thank you for your patience and your time. I want to make you all proud, and know that you all have made my journey one to remember.”

How much has it meant to you to represent your school’s colors in the sports arena?

Riley: “It’s a great feeling to represent your school. I am so thankful and honored to be a part of this wonderful community in Fillmore. It is a great feeling when the community comes together to support all of the students and athletes. I have also been blessed with teammates that have turned into my best friends over the years.”

What has been some of your favorite sports memories over the years in school?

Riley: “Winning a Sectional title in both soccer and basketball. Even though winning is a great feeling, what I’m going to miss isn’t the wins, but the team. I’m going to miss the bus rides, the team dinners, and the locker room talks before and after the games. I am going to miss my best friends and family.”

What’s your farewell message to your underclassmen at your school?

Riley: “Don’t take things for granted. You don’t know what is going to happen. Enjoy every moment. Your time as a Fillmore Eagle goes by quick.”
