FINAL LEADERBOARD: Scio’s Cam Loucks, Whitesville’s Vanessa Hall win Allegany County Scoring titles in Boys and Girls Basketball
Saturday saw the final day of basketball in Allegany County take place, as the last team standing in the Genesee Valley Jaguars fell to the top-seeded Avoca Tigers at Blue Cross Arena in the Class D1 Finals.
With the end of the winter season officially reaching its end, and the time to head back outdoors on the horizon in the next few weeks, there are a couple of more honors to hand out. That being our scoring champions in the County, as Scio junior Cam Loucks and Whitesville freshman Vanessa Hall officially put a bow on their scoring titles in their respective basketball divisions.
Loucks battled alongside Wellsville’s superstar senior Max Jusianiec through most of the season for the top spot in boys basketball, but the Tigers center overtook the Lions guard entering Sectionals and held onto his lead. On the other side, Hall, the Lady Blue Jays guard, held onto her top spot the entire season, averaging well over 20 points per game to earn hers.
