In the second half, Wellsville collected just two more wins to further cement their victory over Dansville, grabbing a winning performance from Kinnciutt in the 100 freestyle before the Lady Sea Lions garnered one last relay victory in the 200 freestyle relay event.

BOYS SOCCER
Fillmore 6, Houghton Academy 1
FILLMORE — Henry Sardina was absolutely engulfed with flames across the first half for the Eagles of Fillmore on Thursday, as he had a helping hand in the first three goals across 15 minutes to set the tone almost immediately against their crosstown rival Houghton Academy, as they proceeded to take a 4-1 halftime lead and never look back, racing towards a 6-1 win over the Panthers for their 10th win this season.
“We were able to put together another solid performance tonight against Houghton Academy. Zach Sisson, Henry Sardina and Layton Sanasith got our offense going early, and we never looked back,” Eagles coach Jarrett Vosburg said. “We’ll enjoy tonight but get back to work tomorrow for a big rematch with Cuba-Rushford this weekend. Houghton’s keeper, Marco Zanini, made some phenomenal saves to keep his team in the game, especially after it was delayed due to a tough injury to one of his teammates. He deserves some special praise for his leadership tonight.”
Sardina’s hot start kicked into gear just 3:58 off the clock, as he dished along his first helper to Zach Sisson to break the ice for the Eagles (10-0). Later on, he would go back-to-back himself in just over two minutes' time, connecting with Layton Sanasith on one of the markers to branch the advantage to three in the first 15 minutes.
Not long after Sardina’s second score, the Panthers (3-8-1) were able to erase the shutout with their lone goal of the contest from Ricky Song, as he found the back of the net behind Brayden Hennard on a feed from Javier Velasco. With two minutes left until the break, Fillmore was given back their three-goal advantage again with Sanasith’s first marker from Eben Schilke.
With a 4-1 lead in hand, the Eagles added some more cushioning with their last two goals in a span of 1:10, all conducted by Noah Strickland, as he handed off the ball to Sardina to finish off his hat trick before capitalizing on a penalty kick a short time later to end what was a 28-shot effort on offense.
On defense, they allowed just four shots to reach Hennard back the other way, with the keeper making three stops. On the other side, Marco Zanini made 22 saves for the Panthers, who are now off until Monday back home with a visit in store from Lima Christian at 4:30 p.m.
Fillmore will get back to the drawing board and then host a red hot Cuba-Rushford team — winners of six of their last seven games, Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Bolivar-Richburg 4, Andover/Whitesville-Jasper-Troupsburg 1
BOLIVAR — Reiss Gaines and Gary McDowell had a helping hand in all four of Bolivar-Richburg’s scores, including the first nearly three minutes removed from the opening kick at center against Andover/Whitesville-Jasper-Troupsburg, as the two Wolverines laid the foundation down for big success back into the win column after a week away from the pitch, powering up a 4-1 win at Dunsmore-Latimer Field on Thursday.
With a 1-0 lead in hand right from the start, the Wolverines (6-4) were able to control the midfield play for much of the first half against their opposition, keeping the momentum up until the 2:11 mark before the break when Gaines recorded his second marker of the game to branch the advantage out to a pair at the horn.
In the early stages of the second half, Gaines would finish off his hat trick performance off his second unassisted marker before McDowell finished the Bolivar-Richburg scoring with 11:54 left to go off a pass fed along by Aydin Sisson. Andover/Whitesville-Jasper-Troupsburg (4-6) was able to break the shutout in the last two minutes, as Robert Bradley found the back of the Wolverines net on his unassisted marker.
The four goals by the Wolverines came on 24 total shots, as they outshot the visitors by a 24-4 margin. In net, David Abdo made three saves to record the victory, while Derek Perkins made 20 saves on the other end for Andover/Whitesville-Jasper-Troupsburg, who now gets set to face Campbell-Savona at 11 a.m. in Whitesville, Saturday morning.
Bolivar-Richburg will look to continue their winning ways back on their home pitch Monday night, hosting Genesee Valley/Belfast in a 5 p.m. first kick.
Arkport/Canaseraga 10, Friendship/Scio 0
ARKPORT — The Wolves of Arkport/Canaseraga came out firing on all cylinders Thursday night at home, as they found the back of the Friendship/Scio net eight times in the first 40 minutes of play to coast their way towards victory at the end of the night, settling on a 10-0 shutout in Arkport.
Statistics were not made available to report upon publication.
Friendship/Scio (1-11) is back in action Monday with a 6 p.m. visit from Andover/Whitesville-Jasper-Troupsburg in Scio.
GIRLS SOCCER
Hammondsport 5, Friendship/Scio 1
HAMMONDSPORT — Friendship/Scio followed the host Lady Lakers of Hammondsport right in their tracks through the first half of play on Thursday. Down by one, the visitors began to take aim at using the second half to their fullest of advantages.
But for the Lady Lakers, they would do the same thing. And then some, as they went on to score four humongous second half goals to break away from Friendship/Scio’s grasp, strolling towards a 5-1 home victory.
Friendship/Scio (6-5) was able to erase Hammondsport’s potential shutout bid towards the midway mark of the second half, with the help of Jordyn Nickerson with 23:16 left on the clock. The goal stemmed off six total shots they would apply against the Lady Lakers, as they hosts outshot their opposition by a 12-6 total count.
In goal, Grace Drumm went on to make four saves for Friendship/Scio, who will now get set for a 1 p.m. first kick with Avoca/Prattsburgh in Scio on Saturday.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Cuba-Rushford 3, Fillmore 1
FILLMORE — Two of the County’s hottest teams alongside Bolivar-Richburg met at one place and at one time. At the end of the night on Thursday, one team’s fire was going to be extinguished, as the Lady Rebels of Cuba-Rushford — winners of five of their first six games, traveled to The Rock to visit host Fillmore, winners of five straight.
Across the night, the foes battled back and forth in a battle that saw the Lady Rebels push Fillmore to the brink after the first two sets. The Lady Eagles found a way to bounce back however in what was a very close third set of action. But in the end, the visitors in blue were able to put a stop to Fillmore’s five-game win streak to extend their own, as they edged their way towards four-set victory by a 25-16, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18 count.
The Lady Rebels (6-1) were paced by a strong night of offense from Lauren O’Keefe up at the front of the net, as she posted 11 kills to go with three digs and two aces. Chipping in help was Lilah Stroud, as she recorded seven more kills of her own to couple alongside two aces and a dig, while Jordyn Radomski pitched in with nine big aces from the service line, four kills and three digs.
Fillmore (5-5) saw Savannah Hosmer take the lead on the attack, scoring four kills and two aces. Ava Sylvester chipped in with six team-leading aces of her own from the back line, while Jenna Austin had three aces of her own to add.
Regular season action will continue ahead for both teams with Cuba-Rushford heading back home to host Bolivar-Richburg in a colossal showdown at the Wighthouse beginning in a 7:30 p.m. first serve, while Fillmore looks to regroup with a 2 p.m. visit from Hinsdale on Saturday.

Fillmore splits home twinbill vs. Way-Co, Avoca/Prattsburgh
HOUGHTON — With the season beginning to wind down, and Sectionals now beginning to eclipse over the horizon, the Fillmore Lady Eagles were looking for some added momentum to carry on into the second season. With both Wayland-Cohocton and Avoca/Prattsburgh at Houghton University, the Lady Eagles would perform a season-ending split, defeating the Lady Eagles (4-1) and falling to the Lady Titans in a close battle (3-2).
In match one, the Lady Eagles saw a complete sweep of all three singles matches come into fruition, as Claire Schilke and Molly Mahoney both took complete control of their respective matches right from the start, scoring 10-0 and 10-1 wins at first and second singles, respectively. The sweep was finished off with a third singles forfeit win for Indigo Knapp.
In the doubles matches, the second doubles team of Kirra Bentley and Lena Tucker battled tooth and nail to come away with a 10-7 edge.
Paving the way in the second match with the Lady Titans were a pair of singles wins collected by Mahoney and Spencer Hopkins, as Mahoney survived a back-and-forth battle to record a 10-7 decision in second singles action, while Hopkins assumed total control to deliver a 10-1 win of her own at third singles.
