TO TURN CARING INTO ACTION, WE NEED TO SEE A PROBLEM, FIND A SOLUTION, AND DELIVER IMPACT.

I wanted to take a quick break from our regular sports updates to recognize some incredible work being done locally supporting aid for the homeless in Allegany County. I’ve learned just over the last few days about Lois Miller and her leadership of an initiative called, Have a Heart for the Homeless. Tonight Lois along with local students and others are raising awareness and taking donations like socks, gloves, and other personal items, in support of area homeless. You should be able to find them by a campfire in the First Citizen’s Bank parking lot. Additionally, there is a euchre tournament happening in parallel at the Immaculate Conception School, also taking donations of personal items.

Strong communities are built by people who care. I hope that you might consider taking an opportunity to visit one of these locations and offering some support or even just some kind words.
