Bolivar-Richburg, GV/Belfast Boys Basketball continue fundraising for Cleveland trip this winter, looking for participants in August golf tournament

To have the opportunity to play on an NBA floor is special. It’s once in a lifetime.

Genesee Valley, before they merged with Belfast, was the last program to chart that course off to the west four hours away. That was nearly six years ago, as they took crosstown rival Scio along for the trip to the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, home to the Cavaliers.

This winter, that trip will be had once again as Genesee Valley/Belfast takes the Wolverines of Bolivar-Richburg along for the experience of a lifetime. With several fundraisers happening over the course of the summer to help fuel these efforts, another begins to eclipse over the horizon in just a couple weeks from now.

At the Bolivar Golf Club, the Bolivar-Richburg and Genesee Valley/Belfast boys basketball programs will come together to host a golf tournament — one of their biggest fundraisers of the summer. Along with hitting the links in a four-person scramble, there will be lunch provided, an assortment of awards that will be handed out upon the tournament’s completion, as well as a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction for all involved.

Sign-ups are officially underway, starting at $75 per player. The tournament is set to begin on August 6 with a 10 a.m. Shotgun start. For more information and/or if you would like to register and reserve a spot, please contact Bolivar-Richburg boys basketball head coach Justin Thomas at 585-703-8758.
